Anisha Murphy, Esq.
OF COUNSEL
Anisha Murphy, Esq. is an attorney, educator, and community leader dedicated to advancing economic justice, asset protection, and generational wealth-building. As Of Counsel with Great Lakes Legal Group, she brings a multidisciplinary background spanning law, community development finance, entrepreneurship, and public policy. Licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and Michigan, Anisha advises individuals, families, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and businesses on a wide range of legal matters, including business law, estate planning, probate administration, asset protection, and wealth preservation strategies.
In addition to her work with Great Lakes Legal Group, Anisha is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Just Law, a Minnesota-based asset protection law firm focused on helping clients build, protect, and transfer wealth across generations. Through her legal practice, she provides strategic counsel on business formation and governance, contracts, intellectual property protection, estate planning, trust administration, real estate and probate matters. Her work is grounded in the belief that legal services should be both sophisticated and accessible, empowering clients to make informed decisions that protect their assets and preserve their legacy.
Anisha’s professional experience extends beyond traditional legal practice. She has spent nearly a decade designing and leading innovative economic development initiatives that expand access to capital and resources for historically underserved communities. Her work has included developing multimillion-dollar lending and investment programs, supporting small business growth, and creating pathways to economic opportunity for entrepreneurs and families. She is passionate about leveraging both law and finance as tools to close wealth gaps, strengthen communities, and create sustainable economic mobility.
A dedicated educator, Anisha serves as an Adjunct Professor, where she teaches and mentors future legal professionals. She is also an active community volunteer and leader, serving on nonprofit boards and contributing her expertise to organizations focused on housing stability, economic development, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment. Her service reflects her longstanding commitment to ensuring that all communities—particularly Black and Brown communities—have access to the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to thrive.
Above all, Anisha is a proud mother whose greatest motivation comes from her two sons, Waymon and Dejaun. Motherhood has profoundly shaped her understanding of legacy, responsibility, and the importance of creating opportunities for future generations. It is this perspective that informs both her legal practice and community work, inspiring her commitment to helping families and business owners protect what they have built and create lasting wealth for those who come after them.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Anisha is deeply committed to service, mentorship, and community engagement. She proudly serves on several community and nonprofit boards focused on advancing equity, economic empowerment, and opportunities for underserved communities. She is also a proud member of The Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and the Minneapolis–St. Paul Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
Anisha believes that the law is one of the most powerful tools available to create positive change. Whether guiding a family through estate planning, helping an entrepreneur launch a business, or supporting community-based initiatives that expand economic opportunity, she is committed to providing thoughtful, strategic, and compassionate counsel that empowers clients to achieve their goals and secure their futures.
